Obituary

Thomas Paul Miller, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at Munson Healthcare in Cadillac, Michigan. Thomas was born on April 20, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Robert Miller and Imogene Hamilton. On March 12, 1973, Thomas married the love of his life, Sherry Johnson, in Flint, Michigan. Together they shared more than 53 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and hard work.

Thomas was the proud owner of Miller’s Painting and Drywall, where he dedicated many years to serving his community through his craftmanship. He was a talented welder who enjoyed building and creating things for others, always willing to lend a helping hand. In his free time, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. His generous heart, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need will be remembered by all who knew him.

Above all, Thomas was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. His greatest joy was his family, and the memories they shared together will remain in their hearts forever.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Miller and Imogene Hamilton, his brothers, Chuck Lutes and Harold James.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sherry Miller, his daughter, Charity (Aaron) Achison, his grandchildren; Desaree (Derrek) Hadrich, and Max Moss, his great-grandchildren, Easton Beck, Richard Moss, Camron Hadrich, Marlee Hadrich, Alyssa Hadrich, Whytt Hadrich, Lakota Hadrich, Landon Hadrick, Alannah Hadrich, and Charleigh Hadrich, his sister, Francis Piper, his sister Charlotte, his brother, Robert “Skip” Miller, his nephew, Charles Lutz (Mary) and family; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Thomas’s legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and generosity will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and the lasting impact he made on so many lives.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made with Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home of McBain. Thoughts and prayers may be left at burkholderfunerals.com
