Patresia Ann Pollington, age 86, of McBain, Michigan passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. Born on August 27, 1939 in Gladwin, Michigan, Pat was the beloved child of Lester and Bessie Schuler. Her life revolved around family, love and laughter.
She married Chuck Pollington on May 29, 1965 in Marion. They started their family in Jackson, moved to Evart and then settled in McBain. Although she loved their second home in Astatula, Florida, it was hard for her to be away from everyone during the winter months. Pat loved taking walks, gardening, playing card games, mushroom hunting, fishing and spending time with those, she loved the most. She sometimes carried salt in her pocket in case she came upon an apple or her favorite - a tomato. She held different factory positions and was proud of the fact she could out work several employees, many who were half her age. Pat had an uncanny ability to remember birthdates. Kids gravitated to her and she loved to tell stories about her family to anyone who spent time with her. She was a fantastic cook who wouldn’t let anyone go hungry, often cooking everyone’s favorites, even if that meant having two or three different meals going at once.
She is survived by her husband Chuck, children - Sheri Pollington, Tammy White (Thom), Kelly Pollington (Ben Fischer); sisters - Sherley McCummings, June Cavender; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren with another one on the way.
Pat was preceded by her parents and siblings Leroy Schuler, Betty Smith, Chet Schuler and Terry Schuler.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral home in McBain with Wil Gasper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Autumnwood of McBain or Munson Hospice.
The world will not be as bright without Pat’s presence in it and she’ll never be forgotten. Funeral arrangements were made by Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain. Thoughts and prayers may be left at burkholderfunerals.com
