Luis William Bouma, age 83, of Cadillac/McBain, passed away peacefully July 1, 2026, at Munson Healthcare Traverse City after a short illness.

Louis was born October 4, 1942 at home in McBain to Menno and Bertha (Veddler) Bouma, and on November 30, 1962, he married Bonnie Kipp.

Louis was a life-long farmer. In his younger years he enjoyed going to various county fairs and participating in tractor pulls, and going to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

Louis is survived by his wife of 63 years Bonnie, children- Lori Robbins of Lake City, Michigan, Todd (CarrieAnn) Bouma of Zeeland, Michigan, Brian (Chasity) Bouma of Flintville, Tennessee, and Tammy (Dell) Westdorp of McBain, Michigan, along with 11 grand-children and 12 great-grandchildren. Louis is also survived by a sister in-law Linda (Don) Stahl of Jenison, Michigan, brother Nelson (Marg) Bouma of Hudsonville, Michigan and sisters Geneva (Larry) Bergakker of Wyoming, Michigan, Carolyn (Tom) WoodWyk of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Joyce (Walt) Falan of McBain, Michigan, along with many nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents Menno and Bertha, in-laws Fay and Gladys Kipp, son in-law Jeff Robbins, a nephew and grandson-in-law.

Per his wishes, Louis was cremated and a private family graveside service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026.
