Katherine Jane Jenema, age 82, of McBain, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on June 1, 2026. Kathy was born on September 25, 1943 to Joseph and Winifred (Older) Hiller in McBain. She married Richard Jenema on June 13, 1964 at the Lake City St. Stephens Parsonage. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2004.
Kathy had owned her own hair salon for many years. She also worked at the McBain Public High School as a para pro. Kathy loved baby sitting her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She was a member of the St Agnes Catholic Church in Marion. Kathy loved her cat, Lily.
Kathy is survived by her children; Paula (Clark) Dykhouse of McBain, Todd (Patti) Jenema of Sterling Heights, Jackie (R-Jay) Bradley of McBain, and Rick (Becky) Jenema of Kalkaska, grandkids; Nicci (Scott) LaChonce, Cole (Miranda) Dykhouse, Luke (Caryann) Jenema, Cassie Jenema (Marty), Jacob Jenema, Shelly (Jason) Davis, Ross Jay (Megan) Bradley, Kathleen (Kyle) Heuker, Lily Jenema, and Haylie Jenema, great-grandkids; Kalli Davis, Lucas Gischia, Breslynn LaChonce, Oaklynn LaChonce, Hank Dykhouse, Meredith Dykhouse, Eleanor Dykhouse, Kyle Heuker, Jr., Jack Heuker, Elizabeth Bradley and Averi Bradley. Surviving sibling Terry Hiller of Midland, in-laws; Pat Hiller of Manton, Margie Elenbaas of McBain, Jeannie (Dan) Suggate of Falmouth, and Kathy (Robert) Alling of East Rapids.
Kathy is proceeded in death by her husband, siblings Mike Hiller, Joe (Sharon) Hiller, Lynn Hiller, and Ann (Leon) Ingersol in-laws; Dave (Pat) Jenema, Jim Jenema, and Bill Elenbaas.
Funeral service will be held on June 5, 2026 at the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Lake City at 11:00 AM with Father Kunal and Father Michael Janowski officiating. Visitation will be on June 4, 2026 at the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. A luncheon will be held after the funeral service at the church. Burial will take place at Mount View Cemetery in McBain. Arrangements are being made with Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home of McBain.
