Karl Arthur Wondergem, age 72 of Reed City, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital surrounded by his siblings. Karl was born on December 24, 1953 in Cadillac to Andrew and Bernice (Benson) Wondergem.

Karl obtained a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University and spent his working years as a production worker in factories. He enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and doing genealogy research.

He is survived by his siblings Karlene (Don) Veld of Wayland, Keith Wondergem of Marion, Kerwin (Penny) Wondergem of Tustin and Kaye Wondergem of Wyoming, MI, nieces and nephews Dustin Wondegem, Ashley (Enrique) Busquets, and Donovan Veld as well as many surviving cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life with be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 12 Noon at the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain with Pastor Dave Stiles officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until time of service. A luncheon will held after the service at the McBain City Building. Burial will take place at a later date in Vogel Center cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made out to the Baldwin Baptist Church The family is being served by the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain.
