Judith Kay McCulley, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on August 3, 2026, with her beloved family. Born on January 24, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, Judith was the treasured daughter of David and Esther Kennedy. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and cherished traditions.
Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Claude McCulley, her eldest son John Wayne McCulley, her parents, and her siblings Jay, Jack, David, Glen, Fred and Lewis Kennedy, as well as Bob and Gene Hubbard, and sisters Irene Harris and Joan Walters.
She is survived by her brother Richard Kennedy and her loving children: Charles F. McCulley, Danetta R. Hladik, Linda K. Elliot, Cindy D. Lucas, and Donald A. McCulley. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shawn, Justin, Courtney, Noah, Coty, Rebecca, Kayla, Dustin, Brandin, Eric, Khristopher, and Kyle, and her 14 great-grandchildren.
Judith was a woman whose heart was as open as her arms, always ready to embrace her family. Her home was always a gathering place filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her delightful cooking. Christmas was a particularly magical time for Judith, as she adored giving gifts and preparing favorite meals for her family. Her love for family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was known for her commitment to keeping her family together. Judith was a homemaker, dedicating her life to her family. However, she found a profound sense of joy and fulfillment during her time as a line cook at the Elephant Walk Restaurant in Florida where she enjoyed making some of her favorite dishes. Her passion for arts, crafts, and crossword puzzles brought her joy and reflected her creative spirit. Judith's kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Judith's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the home of her daughter, Linda Elliot, located at 316 W 1st St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice, honoring Judith's giving nature. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Renee, her eldest daughter, for all her years of dedicated loving care, and to Linda, her middle daughter, for her loving support and for giving her such a wonderful day with her family in her last moments. Special thanks are also extended to the nurses and staff at hospice for their compassionate care in ensuring that she was comfortable in her final days. Judith Kay McCulley will be forever remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and her generous spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
