Jensen Jude
Cherry
d. Aug 6, 2026
Lake City
Jensen Jude Cherry, of Lake City, Michigan, passed away peacefully, snuggled in his mom and dad’s loving arms, at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on August 6, 2026, and moved on to his forever home in Heaven.
Jensen was born on January 22, 2026, in Grayling, Michigan, to Kyle and Morgan (Rodenbaugh) Cherry.
Though his time on earth was far too short, Jensen knew nothing but love. That love was reflected in his constant, beaming smile and his long, joyful belly laughs. He was our happiest baby. He adored watching his older brothers play, having his ribs tickled, cuddling with his mom, and being sung to. His sweet smile and laughter brought immeasurable joy to everyone who knew him.
We will forever cherish the precious memories we made with Jensen and carry his beautiful spirit in our hearts. While we will forever feel the heartbreaking void of his absence, there is peace in knowing that he is now resting in the loving arms of Jesus. We hold tightly to the promise that we will be reunited with our precious Jensen someday in Heaven.
Jensen is survived by his loving parents, Morgan and Kyle Cherry; his older brothers, Brooks and Leland Cherry; his great-great-grandmother, Pearl Koetje; great-grandparents, Ray and Judy Rodenbaugh, Dennis and Amy Jaekel, and Nancy Little; grandparents, Scott and Becky Voelker, Mark and Judy Near, and Jason Rodenbaugh; aunts and uncles, Dylan and Emily Rodenbaugh, Chance and Brittney Rodenbaugh, Pearl Voelker, Gabe and Amber Shaw, and Evan and Erin Birkett; and his cousins, Jayden, Declan, Tripp, Trayson, Easton, Axel, Izzie, Eloise, Mason, and Ava.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, William Cherry; his great-grandparents, Chuck and Nancy Koetje; and his cousin, Dalton Rodenbaugh.
Jensen’s life may have been short, but the love he gave and the love he received will last forever. He will forever be our beloved baby, our happiest boy, and a precious part of our family. Until we meet again in Heaven, we will carry him with us in our hearts.
A private family service and burial will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Friends and family are invited to join us, along with your families, for a casual Celebration of Life following the service from 2:00–6:00 p.m. at Four Seasons Event Barn, 80 N 8 Mile Rd, Lake City, MI 49651.
