Gary Douglas Heitz, age 87 of Marion passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Parkview Assisted Living in Harrison. Gary was born on December 26, 1937 in Flint to Owen and Marian (Perry) Heitz.

He enjoyed reading and collecting comics from newspapers.

He is survived by his conservator Laurie (Rob) Kolhaus of Lake City, and all of his friends and caretakers at Parkview Assisted Living in Harrison.

He is preceded in death by his father Owen Heitz, mother Marian Wygonik and step-father Edward Wygonik.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18 at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with Deacon Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain.
