Doris Alma Harvey, age 77 of Cadillac, passed away on May 7, 2026 at the Wexford Senior Care Center. Doris was born on February 8, 1949 in Cadillac to Ted and Patricia (Durham) Nelson.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her kids, family and many pets. She spent much of her time reading, sewing and watching the birds and wildlife. Doris worked out of the home as a nurse’s aide, pharmacy assistant, R&D clerk and a small business owner.

She is survived by her children Kerrie Jo Harvey and Bill Harvey (Heather Hartline), granddaughter Jenny (Colton) Reisner, siblings Dan (Rhonda) Nelson, Doug (Cheri) Nelson, Jamie (Allan) Coffell, Theresa Nelson, long time friend Kay Mallery, and her canine companion Bro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Terry Harvey, grandson Zack, brothers Doyle and Duane.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 12 noon until 3:30 at the Lake Township Hall located at 8105 W. Kelly Rd. Lake City, MI 49651. The Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain is serving the family, the obituary can be seen online at burkholderfunerals.com
