Donald L. Smith age 85 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Samaritas Senior Living Center in Cadillac. He was born in Lapeer, MI to Leslie and Norma (Baker) Smith on August 8, 1938. On November 28, 1968 he entered into marriage with Grace Ann Boven in Grand Blanc, MI.

Don loved doing outside activities, hunting, fishing, boating and especially farming. Time spent with his family was deeply enjoyed by Don, and those times would include when he had the chance to grill food for the family to enjoy.

"He is survived by his wife, children: Jeanne (Jerry) Pavia of Caro; Karen Smith of Las Vegas, NV; Brenda (Susan Manis) Smith of Jacksonville, FL; Donald V (Daniel Blaha) Smith of Milwaukee, WI; Jeff (Theresa) Smith of Grayling; and Lesley (Rob Jensen) Hicks of Evart, 13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren."

He is preceded in death by his parents, step dad Leroy Mardlin, brother Leslie Smith, grandchildren; Angelika Vella, Jacob Smith, and Carey Vella.
