Debra Louise Lewis, age 65, of Lake City, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 22, 2026.

Debra was born on October 30, 1960, in Greenville, to Merlynn “Edward” and Nancy (Cooley) Sundell. She attended Lake City Schools, graduating in 1978. On November 4, 1978, she married Albert “Sonny” Lewis.

Debra enjoyed shopping, gardening, and going to yard sales. She had a deep love for animals, but most importantly, she cherished her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and the memories she created with them will be treasured always.

Debra is survived by her husband, Albert “Sonny” Lewis of Lake City; her children, Timothy (Kathleen) Lewis and Danielle Lewis, both of Lake City; her sisters, Denise Londak and Daphne Sundell, both of Lake City; her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Timothy “TJ” Jr., Isabella, and Madelyn; and three heavenly grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlynn and Nancy Sundell; grandparents Howard and Lucielle Cooley and Leo and Madalynn Sundell; uncle Leroy Sundell; Don and Jeannie Culver; cousins Juanita Richardson and Donna Lutke; father- and mother-in-law Albert “Sonny” and Florence (Smalley) Lewis; and brother-in-law Kevin Lewis.

Per Debra’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Life will take place next summer with her family and loved ones. Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.

In keeping with Debra’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Missaukee Humane Society.
