Christine Frances DeBoer age 74 of McBain passed away at Autumnwood of McBain on October 9, 2023. Christine was born on January 14, 1949 in Detroit to Patrick and Frances (Pearson) Hancock. She married Albert DeBoer on April 28, 1979 in Livonia.

Christine went to the University of Michigan for one year and then to Central Michigan College where she received her bachelor degree in education and was second in a class of 1200 students She had taught in the public school system including McBain for 25 years. She was a member of the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church.

She is survived by her husband; Albert DeBoer of McBain, son; Jay (Lacy) DeBoer of McBain, grandchildren; Aidan and Christian DeBoer of McBain, siblings; Roberta (Jim) Gilchrist of Tucson, Arizona, Patrick J. (Randy McBrayer) Hancock of Dallas, Tx., and Timothy Hancock of Harrison Township, Mi., sister-in-law; Grace Mason of Cadillac.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law; George Mason

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16 at 1:00 P.M. at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church with Reverend Adam Barton officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in Mount View Cemetery at McBain. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church.
