Cathy Jo LaPlaunt, age 67 of McBain, passed away on March 6, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 1, 1958 in Cadillac, MI to Herman and Anne (Huttenga) Zuiderveen.

She is survived by her son Matt (Amy) Wilson, five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, siblings Dave (Joyce) Zuiderveen, Bob (Sherry) Zuiderveen and Von (Doug) Benthem as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Anne Zuiderveen and son Mark Wilson.

A celebration of life is being held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Lucas Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Todd Kuperus officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. The family is being served by the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain.
