Obituary

Augusta Raab September 08, 1936 - May 03, 2026. Devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many wonderful people. Her legacy includes Carol Raab-Wilmoth, Diana and Victoria Wilmoth, Elizabeth and David Witteveen, Heidi and Geoff Sinning, Eric Witteveen, Joe and Linda Shafer, Ella Shafer, and Mark and Shonda Wilk. “Gus”, or “Gustie”, was a naturally nurturing soul who loved to provide care in a myriad of ways. Whether she was cooking or baking for family and friends, tending to her Enchanted Forest, or calling to check on the people she loved, Gus consistently did her best to spread love and joy. Her family will continue to cherish her in their memories; including going to pick blueberries, trying “coffee” for the first time which was mostly just cream, savoring BLTs made with homegrown tomatoes, watching the hummingbirds enjoy her fuchsia plants, and countless others. Augusta insisted “if you didn’t bring me flowers in life, do not send me flowers when I’m gone”; instead, her family kindly requests support be shown through donations to any women’s shelter of your choice, such as Oasis Family Resource Center or New Hope Center. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of Jesus and rejoice with all her family and friends who have gone before her. Plans to celebrate her life will be announced at a future date, please check burkholderfunerals.com for that announcement. Though she is greatly missed, her loved ones will honor her in the way she’s always wanted: keep smiling. Arrangements were made with the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home in McBain. Thoughts and Prayers may be left at burkholderfunerals.com
