Alan Lee Iler age 75 of McBain passed away on February 19, 2024 at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City as a result of an automobile accident on February 7, 2024. His daughter Laura Sluiter died on February 7, 2024 in the same accident. He was born on July 6, 1948 in Cadillac, MI to Kenneth and Alice (Cooley) Iler.

Alan had worked as a general contractor in the building trades. He enjoyed going to car shows and working on his vehicles. He enjoyed puttering around and doing different building projects. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his granddaughter; Katelyn Lee Anne Sluiter of McBain, son-in-law; Marty J. Sluiter of McBain and was expecting a new great grandchild. His surviving siblings are; Dennis (Diane) Iler of Niles, Carol (Ron) Dykgraaf of Cadillac, Vickie Butler of Cadillac and Kenneth (Janna) Iler of Lucas along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Laura Sluiter, brother; Brian Iler and a brother-in-law; Larry Butler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain with visitation from 2:00 P.M. until time of service. Reverend Adam Barton will officiate and military honors will be provided by the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. A luncheon will follow at the McBain Community Center.
